Diploma of Business BSB50215
Course Outline
This qualification would apply to individuals with various job titles including executive officers, program consultants and program coordinators. Individuals in these roles may possess substantial experience, but who possess sound theoretical business skills and knowledge that they would like to develop in order to create further educational and employment opportunities.
Entry Requirements
There are no academic requirements for this qualification, however, Australian International Training Institute requires that all students:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Be currently employed in a business role
Outcomes & Pathways
If students obtain competency for all units they will receive the full qualification BSB50215 Diploma of Business.
Participants completing BSB50215 Diploma of Business may enter into workplace or continue current roles including:
- Executive Officer
- Program Consultant
- Program Coordinator
Students may also like to continue their formal training by undertaking the BSB60215 Advanced Diploma of Business.

Course Structure
This course is structured to ensure that students receive adequate training in BSB50215 Diploma of Business. This includes:
- 20 hours per week of workplace based learning in over 60 weeks. This is a total of 1200 hours.
The qualification is made up of 8 units of competency which consists of 8 elective units that have been chosen by Australian International Training Institute Pty Ltd based on industry requirements. The units of competency in this qualification are as shown below:

Volume of Learning
The volume of learning allocated to a qualification will vary depending on the level of the qualification and the experience and competency of the student. As per the Australian Quality Framework, students must complete the allocated hours for the qualification they are undertaking in order to achieve competency. If the student applies for Recognition of Prior Learning or Credit Transfer, the volume of learning may be reduced. The hours that make up the volume of learning for BSB50215 Diploma of Business are:
- 1200 which includes supervised workplace learning and assessment and unsupervised self-study
*The total volume of learning for a Diploma level qualification must be at least 1200 hours. These hours do not include breaks.
Recognition of Prior Learning
Students with prior learning and work experience can apply for RPL. Students who have completed corresponding units of competency and/or units contained within the packaging rules can apply for Credit Transfer. RPL evidence must include some of the following:
- Work experience
- Life experience
- Previous study
- Professional development programs

Assessment Methods
Assessment is structured throughout the course. If students are unable to achieve competency, additional support is provided through mentoring and access to re-assessment as outline in our policies and procedures.
Assessment requires achievement across all tasks to demonstrate competence and includes:
- Written assessment
- Portfolio of evidence
- Simulated/practical assessment

Students will be provided with the following resources required to complete the BSB50215 Diploma of Business:
- Learner guide
- Real workplace environment approved for assessment
- Access to Bookboon textbooks
*All resources provided to students are included in course fees. However, students will need to ensure that they bring the appropriate stationary to their training including an A4 notebook and pens.

Australian International Training Institute Pty Ltd is located at Suite 201 11 Spring Street Chatswood NSW 2067.
Training and assessment will be conducted by one of Australian International Training Institute’s qualified trainers at the student’s workplace. The location of the student’s workplace will vary.
